Brad Swan’s first day with Team 21C

A new team member can present many uncertainties: Will we get along? How will we work together? Will our team’s identity be compromised? How will we be able to resolve conflicts?

Simply put, Brad fit right in. I was impressed with Brad as he listened and observed, asked good questions, and empathized with those around him. Also, I’ve already noticed Brad navigating his way to find his unique fit on the team. I truly hope Brad enjoyed his first day; it was certainly beneficial for the team, as Brad’s orientation not only served as a reminder of the good things we were able to accomplish so far this school year, but also as a reminder for the challenges still ahead. Team 21C, now with Brad as a key member, is motivated to start tackling the those challenges. Welcome to the team Brad!

Thanks, Bryan! In my relatively large number of “first days,” I have to admit that my first day with the 21st Century Learning team was the most exciting, encouraging, and fulfilling start I have ever experienced. Bryan, Jessica, and Wes were all incredibly welcoming, genuine, and informative (without making me feel overloaded). The best feeling was, while driving home, I realized that my cheeks were sore from smiling all day. Hopefully, my cheek muscles will develop accordingly; I think I’m going to need them!
